In 1937, won 3KZ's "A&P Parade", a Melbourne talent quest which launched her into a successful international career on the stage and in music halls. From 1969 to the mid 1980s, while living in Adelaide, involved with "Music on Wheels", a non-profit venture designed to teach people to find and polish hidden musical and entertainment talents.
