Client Services

The Client Services Directorate is responsible for leading the development and delivery of services to State Library clients including Collection Development, Subject Specialist services, Information Services, and Outreach Services.

Collection Development Team
Leads the development of the State Library’s collections through use of community profiling, collection analysis and identifying and acquiring archival collections to ensure the state wide collections meet community needs.

Subject Specialist Team
Leads the development and delivery of high level specialist services in the State Library’s defined subject specialities of the J S Battye Library of West Australian History, Family History, Music, Business, Children and Indigenous.

Outreach Team
Leads the development and delivery of programs and partnerships to foster life-long learning, promote State Library and public library services to Western Australians and provides a consultancy and advisory service to assist and support public libraries.

Information Services
Leads the development and delivery of high quality information services to clients. This includes reference and document delivery services to provide access to the Library’s books, journals, newspapers, music, ephemera and electronic and other resources as well as a retail outlet for Western Australian publications and reproduction services for Library’s resources.
