Facilites & Services

Cafe
Cafe Pages is located on the ground floor of the Alexander Library Building where light refreshments are provided. Catering services are available for public events in the State Library Theatre and functions in the building by arrangement Tel: 08 9427 3102. The Alexander Library Building is situated in Northbridge which has a wide range of restaurants.

Centre for the Book
Situated on the ground floor, the Centre of the Book hosts a year round program of exhibitions and events.

Conference, Seminar or Meeting Rooms & State Library Theatre
We offer a number of well equipped meeting and seminar rooms for hire, catering for gatherings of 12 to 207.

Readers' Centre
Situated on the Mezzazine Floor the centre provides a more informal meeting place for writers and readers to get together over morning teas and other such functions.

Information Services From Your State Library
A range of services to meet your information needs.

Internet Access
Full Internet access is available from six workstations situated on the ground level which require a booking. All other workstations in the building provide limited Internet access to information websites which have been selected and evaluated by staff and include access to electronic databases.

Lending Services
Lending services are available for some materials.

Rare Books & Archival Material
There are some special conditions for the use of archival materials and State Library rare books. To look at these materials you must register as a researcher.

Stack Retrieval
Information on how to request material from our storage areas.

Photocopiers & Printing
Self service photocopying machines which give A4 and A3 copies are provided on each floor of the State Library. In addition there is an A2 copier on the first floor and a colour copier on the first floor.

Change Machines
There are two change machines on the ground floor near the lockers which dispense $1.00 coins. They will take a $2.00 coin or $5.00, $10.00 or $20.00 notes.

Lockers
Coin operated lockers are provided on the ground floor of the Alexander Library Building for the safe storage of clients' bags and valuables. To operate the lockers you will need a $1.00 coin, which is refunded when the goods are removed.

Special Needs
Facilities are provided for people with vision impairment or hearing difficulties.

Telephones
Two public telephones are available on the ground floor of the Alexander Library Building.

Nursing Mothers Room
A room for nursing mothers is located on the ground floor of the Alexander Library Building. The key is available at the Reception Desk.
