Government

  • Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC)
    The ACCC promotes competition and fair trade in the market place to benefit consumers, businesses and the community. It also regulates national infrastructure services. Its primary responsibility is to ensure that individuals and businesses comply with the Commonwealth competition, fair trading and consumer protection laws
  • Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) 
    The prudential regulator of the Australian financial services industry. APRA oversees banks, credit unions, building societies, general insurance and reinsurance companies, life insurance, friendly societies and most members of the superannuation industry. Lists of approved companies involved in these activities are available from the APRA website.
  • Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC)
    Australia’s corporate, markets and financial services regulator.
  • Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA)
    The Bank's main responsibility is monetary policy,maintaining financial system stability and promoting the safety and efficiency of the payments system. The Bank is an active participant in financial markets, manages Australia's foreign reserves, issues Australian currency notes and serves as banker to the Australian Government.
  • The Treasury
    Focuses primarily on economic policy.
