There are some useful resources for researching your Welsh ancestors in the Genealogy Centre on the 1st floor. The key to finding them is our catalogue which you can explore by searching under keyword. Try searching under the name of a location e.g. monmouthshire or under wales + the type of source e.g. wales gazetteers. Please be aware that this type of search will also retrieve results for New South Wales.

National Library of Wales
The National Library of Wales website has quite a lot of online family history content. From the Family History page go to Search Archival Databases for online indexes to marriage licences 1616-1837, court records 1730-1830, pre-1858 wills and more.
Archives Wales

The Archives Wales website has an online catalogue of historical resources in 21 archives throughout Wales as well as information on how to go about researching your family history.
Gathering the Jewels

This site has a digital collection of items from museums, archives and libraries in Wales. Included are images of objects, books, letters, photographs and maps. You can search across the whole site, browse by theme or click on a map to search by location.
