Encyclopedia of Popular Music
This eight volume encyclopedia was released in 1998 and chronicles the fortunes and times of artists considered to be pivotal to the growth of popular music in western culture.

Popular Music, 1920-1979
Contains annotations for over 18,000 American popular songs with details of composers, lyricists, publishers and premiere performances. Supplemented by single year volumes, the coverage is extended to most of the twentieth century, 1900 to 1986.

Rock Names
Did you know Procol Harum was named after a Siamese cat?  Rock Names reveals the origin of the names of rock bands.

Who's Who of Australian Rock
Who were the members of Bo Weevils? For the best, but brief information on Australian rock bands this is a useful tool.

A recording guide recommended by Choice, the American review magazine.

CD-Roms

The Who's Who of Australian Rock
A CD-Rom based on the book of the same name by Chris Spencer. It is a database of 14,000 Australian musicians and bands. It also includes a set of historical notes on various periods of Australian rock music which are cross referenced to relevant database entries.

Rolling Stone (American edition)
A popular American rock magazine with feature articles, letters to the editor, charts, compact disc, television and film reviews.

Rolling Stone (Australian edition)
Almost identical format to the American edition of 'Rolling Stone' but with more Australian content.
