Percussion

Here you will find an overview of the percussion resources at the State Library.

The Collection

Scores for Loan

Whether you're a budding Alex Acuña or Rainer Seegers, you will find something of interest in the State Library's collection of scores for all percussion instruments. There is music for timpani, marimba, xylophone as well as material for drums.

The collection includes studies and exercises, orchestral excerpts, concerto reductions and jazz, as well as music originally written for these instruments and arrangements of other works. We also collect chamber music for percussion and mixed ensembles. All percussion music can be found on the shelves at the classification X.

Reference Material

The reference collection of books, journals and electronic resources about music includes volumes on instrument making, maintenance and repair, technique, composers and performers, history, analysis and bibliographies.

Recordings

We hold a collection of CDs and LPs that can be listened to on-site. You can also listen to tracks using the on-line database Naxos Music Library. There is a small classical and jazz loan collection of audio cassettes available.
