Internet
The State Library of Western Australia (SLWA) provides free public access to the Internet.
As well as Library supplied computers, a free wi-fi internet service is provided by ENABLEnet to SLWA and most of the Cultural Centre 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
All Internet computers are multi language capable and are set up to allow you to:
- word process;
- create presentations;
- print;
- burn CDs;
- use headphones;
- use USB devices;
- use spreadsheets;
- use email; and
- use chat programs.
Full access
Full access to information searching, including the use of Internet search engines and the ability to input any URL, is available from all Internet computers in the State Library Building. Our Fast Access Internet computers are available in the Discovery Lounge on the ground floor of the Library. If you require a longer period of time on the Internet you can register on our computer booking system. Please see our Computer Bookings page for more details.
Large Text Library Catalogue computers and Internet computers
Several of our computers offering access to the Library Catalogue and Internet are now available with a large text display for easier viewing. Each computer is clearly labelled as having large text display, but please ask staff for directions to the closest large text computer if you cannot find one.
