There are a number of websites which have useful information.
Lending library services for tourists.
The City of Perth Library provide a lending service for travellers. Just leave a $20 deposit to borrow books. This is refunded when your Visitors Card is handed in and all items have been returned. You can borrow two items and change them as often as you wish. A special family card is available. Items are lent for three weeks and an extension of the loan period can usually be arranged by phone.
