The Great Southern Room and The Eastern Hills Balcony
This superb function room is located on the fourth floor of the Alexander Library Building with a spectacular view over-looking the Perth Central Business District. This versatile venue has the capacity to accommodate approximately 100 people for meetings and training sessions. Equipped with an electronic whiteboard and built-in television and video unit.
A large adjoining balcony area is also available for hire in conjunction with the function room or individually. Partially undercover, The Eastern Hills Balcony is ideal for evening functions, with a prime view of the city lights.
The Great Southern Room and The Eastern Hills Balcony are available from 8.30am to 11pm, seven days a week.

Centre for the Book
The Centre for the Book, located on the ground floor, displays travelling exhibitions and exhibits from the State Library Collections including manuscripts, valuable publications, photographs and other treasures. Approximately four different exhibitions are displayed each year. The Centre for the Book is available for hire during exhibitions or as an empty space in between the scheduled exhibitions.
This dynamic venue caters for 40 seated or 100 standing guests and is suitable for cocktail and banquet functions, as well as launches, presentations and other events. The adjoining Friends' Room is conveniently available for use by caterers.

The Readers' Centre
A bright, open space overlooking the ground floor public library area, the Readers' Centre on the mezzanine floor provides the perfect ambience for book launches, writers' workshops, book clubs, and other literary functions. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings, the Readers' Centre is also available for cocktail parties and other functions.
The Readers' Centre is available for hire from 8.30am to 11pm, seven days a week.

The Music Studio
A soundproof rehearsal and practice room for solo musicians is available for hire. It is equipped with a YAMAHA piano, music stand and stool. Clients are welcome to try out sheet music from the Library's extensive collection.
The Music Studio is available from 9am to 8pm Monday to Thursday; 9am to 5.15pm Friday; and 10am to 5.15pm Saturday and Sunday.
