I woke up at 7:30am. I knew it was going to be a special day. It was the day of the lightning carnival, the annual event that I had been looking forward to ever since the Mullaloo Heights footy team began training. I got up, got dressed, got a drink and sunscreen and sprinted to school.

It was just 8:30 when I got to school. I was I was just in time for the bus that would take the footy team to the oval. When our team got there we had just enough time to run a lap of the oval, do some stretches then our first match began.

I sat on the bench for the whole game, not that it bothered me. Our coach, Mr. Birch had promised me that I'll play the next game I ended up as a full forward. We were thrashed.

I played the next game as well. We were beaten again. Mullaloo Heights were beaten again. We only came 4th out of five schools, but at least we had fun.

THE END
