Sinking Ship

by Juliet Haydon-Knowell (Best poet ever)

The ship is groaning on the sea,
"Get out out of me sailors, get out of me ! "
"I'm going to sink, " But the crew dos'nt hear,
In vain the ship cries, "Get out of here ! "

The waves laugh, "HAR ! HAR ! HAR ! "
"The time you sink is not too far ! "
The seaweeds giggle as they catch the keel
The ocean chortles as the captain squeals

The lifeboats call out to the crew,
"Us rubber-dingies, we'll save you ! "
The ship says "Goodbye you all, "
"Like all good ships I'll have my fall ! "

The ocean smiles at it's victory,
"I'm good, though I'm not the Atlantic sea ! "
"My waves are special, they thrashed a ship ! "
"Like a bull-fighter, with a whip ! "

THE END
