Collections

U.N. Documents Collection
The State Library has an extensive collection of U.N. documents dating from 1946 to the present.  These publications are a primary source of information for students of human rights and international law, the environment, labour standards, intellectual property, development and world peace.

U.S. Government Publications Collection
The State Library has Western Australia's largest collection of official U.S. Government publications.  A huge amount of recent government information can be accessed via internet sites but for older congressional, departmental and Presidential documents try our print collections.

U.K. Government Publications Collection
The State Library's substantial collection of U.K. Government publications is an invaluable historical resource for the people of Western Australia.  Researchers investigating Australian, British and family history find authoritative information in these official documents, particularly those in the Parliamentary Papers and AJCP collections.

The Encyclopedia of the United Nations and International Agreements
A comprehensive introduction to the United Nations.

Statistical Abstract of the United States
Also known as The National Data Book, this annual publication presents statistics on social and economic topics such as population, education, income and the labour force.

UK: the Official Handbook of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
This handbook is your first stop for concise coverage of policy and activities relating to  the economy and the environment, as well as social and cultural matters.

This site offers access to resolutions, declarations, press briefings and much more.

GPO Access
Official U.S. Government information including the U.S. Code, Federal Register, and the Congressional Record. This excellent site has a very useful catalogue of U.S. Government publications.

A first entry point for U.K. public sector information on the internet.

United Nations Documents Index
A detailed printed index covering U.N. documents from 1950-.

UNBISnet
The United Nations Bibliographic Information System (UNBISnet) is a new online catalog to U.N. publications and documentation.

GPO on SilverPlatter
A CD-ROM index covering GPO documents published between 1976 and 1996.  Documents produced after 1996 can be accessed via an online catalogue at the GPO Access web site.

This association provides an information service to schools and community organisations that support the objectives of the U.N.

Britain In Australia
Look here to find official information on employment in the U.K., visas, genealogical research, trade, social security taxation, etc.  Official forms can be downloaded from this site.

U.S. Diplomatic Mission to Australia
This organisation provides information on visas, immigration and education as well as press releases and contact details for U.S. Information Research Centres.

United Nations Conferences and Observances
From this site we can learn that the decade 2001 to 2010 has been designated as the International Decade for a Culture of Peace and Non-violence for the Children of the World.
