Construction
In the early part of the twentieth century new building techniques using materials and components imported from industrialised Britain and America began to be employed
more widely in Western Australia.
These materials began to influence the way in which office buildings were designed
and built. Buildings of the early twentieth century were designed in a classical style characterized by stone or stucco mouldings, with attached columns and pilasters -
elements that were used to hide the modern frameworks around which they were constructed.
