Public Buildings and Spaces continued
Hospitals continued
The influence of the "Modern Movement" after the Second World War can be seen in the construction of a high-rise hospital development at Royal Perth Hospital in
1948. The new construction was set near buildings which suggest the earlier art deco style.
The modern style continued to dominate hospital construction through the 1950s and 1960s. By the 1970s and 1980s its sparse functionality had given way to more
uncompromising forms.
More decorative influences can be seen in recent hospital developments.
