Buildings at what became the university campuses of Edith Cowan and Curtin display the influence of modern architecture in the functionality of the designs and the absence of decorative elements. 

Western Australia's other purpose-built campus at Murdoch displays a different aesthetic, with the campus designed into the natural bushland setting.
