Forestry - Plantation

The first plantings of soft wood trees in Western Australia were carried out by the Forests Department in 1919 with the establishment of 400 acres (162 hectares). As a result of the experience gained during the 1920s plantation forestry on a larger scale became possible during the 1930s.
