Wool - from boom to bust continued

Wool prices rose to unprecedented heights in the early 1950s. In 1946-47 the value of the wool clip was $1.8 million, but by 1951 this had increased to over $120 million. This growth was maintained at a steady rate until the early 1970s when exports were drastically affected by the world recession.
