Free Program of Tours and Workshops @ Your State Library
The State Library of Western Australia is pleased to announce the 2008 program of interactive tours and workshops for school and community members of all ages. All activities are free.Highlighting the Library’s extensive collections and resources, including the J S Battye Library of West Australian History, these free tours and seminars can be for general information or to support more structured learning. Bookings are recommended as places are limited. Call 9427 3111 to book.
Tour - Maps, Music, Microfilm and more
Discover that there are more than just books at the State Library. This 50-minute tour of the State Library will introduce visitors to the varied items collected and take them behind the scenes to some areas that are usually off limits to visitors.
Date / Time: Tuesdays at 12.30pm (weekly).
Tour - Arcane Artefacts: Seldom Seen Sensations from the Collections of the Battye Library
This white gloves tour, conducted by one of the expert Battye Subject Specialists, is one of the few opportunities to see some of the rare and fragile items held in the collections of the State Library.
Date / Time: Monday 31st March, 2 – 3pm.
SEaK – Search, Engage and Know Your State Library
The State Library’s SEaK program of free workshops will show visitors how to Search, Engage and Know your State Library and introduce the resources and collections.

Schools’ Education Program
The State Library of Western Australia is also launching a new Education Program for schools in 2008. This program caters for all students in Pre-Primary to Year 12, complements the curriculum framework and may be adapted to suit the needs of students.All education programs are free of charge and available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9.30am to 4.00pm. Teachers should book two weeks in advance. Call 9427 3202 to book.
