Media Release 13 Nov 2009
What kind of words will you find in the world’s smallest dictionary - that measures 27mm X 18mm and boasts 384 pages? What does a bible from 1549 look like? Can you name the book presented to former Premier Alan Carpenter during the State visit by Mr. Zeng Peiyan, Vice Premier of the People’s Republic of China in 2007? Have you seen the original 1835 Plan of Alpha Cottage on Adelaide Street, one of the few early documented gardens of WA?
These items are part of the exhibition Our Stories, Our Treasures in The Gallery at the State Library of WA. Curator Steve Howell searched in nooks and crannies to find special hidden treasures to share with you.
