State Library caters for Year 11 and 12 students with dedicated study space
The State Library of Western Australia’s specialised study space has opened a month earlier this year, and is now available to students revising for their WA Certificate of Education.
The WACE space is located on the first floor, where past papers, study guides and reference materials from the Library’s collection have been brought together to assist students in the lead up to the year 11 and 12 exam period.
Students can bring their laptops and log on to the Library’s free ‘Enablenet’ wi-fi, or register to use the State Library’s computers to access online resources. WACE papers from previous years can be downloaded from: www.curriculum.wa.edu.au/internet/Publications/Past_WACE_Examinations
Margaret Allen, State Librarian and CEO, commented, “For the past three years the Library has set up a study space from late August to late November. This year, Library staff had noticed an increased demand for WACE and TEE resources during the April school holidays, and asked if the dedicated study space could be ready in time for the July school holiday period. The Library is delighted to respond to client demand as we know that students (and sometimes their parents) use the resources heavily prior to their exams.”
The WACE study space is open during State Library opening hours from now until the end of November. The opening hours are available at: www.slwa.wa.gov.au/about_us/contact_us/opening_hours
