Real-life zombie expert and National Geographic Explorer Wade Davis wants to talk to you!

He’s investigated Haitian zombies, crossed the Darién Gap on foot, lived with tribes deep in
the Amazon and high up in the Andes. He’s gained a PhD from Harvard University, been
awarded an honorary membership of the world-famous Explorers Club, penned an
international best seller and received praise from David Suzuki.

Wade Davis, an anthropologist, ethnobotanist, author and photographer, he has
extraordinary experiences to tell. And he wants to tell you.

The State Library of Western Australia is proud to present Wade Davis whose work has
focused on worldwide indigenous cultures, especially in North and South America and
particularly involving the traditional uses and beliefs associated with psychoactive plants.

He is presenting only one public talk in Perth on Tuesday 4 December at 7pm in the State
Theatre Centre titled ‘Why Ancient Wisdom Matters in the Modern World’. You will be moved
by remarkable tales drawn from his experiences working in remote outposts of the world’s
great forests, deserts, mountains, tundras, and jungles from the Amazon to Africa and the
Andes to the Arctic.

After the talk Davis will be available for book signing. Books will be available for purchase on
the night.

Tickets to the event are available from Ticketek. The cost of $39 includes light refreshments
prior to the talk at 6pm.
