Designed especially for children, the Kids' Catalogue is an easy and fun way to search for the children's resources held in Western Australian public libraries and the Alexander Library Building.

Programs

Children's Book Week
Children's Book Week is a national celebration of Australian Children's Literature. The State Library coordinates and supports programs to mark this event.

Western Australian Young Writers Competitions
There are many opportunities for young writers to enter their works in local writing competitions. A number of public libraries coordinate these programs throughout the State. 

Western Australian Young Readers Book Award
This is a state-wide children's choice award for primary and secondary school children.

Specialised Centre

Fremantle Childrens Literature Centre
This centre provides a focus for all those interested in children's literature. It brings together students, teachers, parents, writers, storytellers, illustrators and specialists in the field. The centre has a program of workshops and events.

The State Library's Infolink database provides information on a large range of youth/young people's service networks.

Childrens' Services
The State Library's Infolink database provides information on a large number of community groups and government organisations in Western Australia for children, such as playgroups, family centres, toy libraries, etc.
